Recipe: Horchata Lip Gloss

Horchata is a cold, rice and almond beverage that is usually tan and "milky" looking. Some recipes call for milk and others do not. Other ingredients often include sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. If you are a fan of Chai, you will find Horchata intriguing!

 

You Will Need:

1 oz  Natural Lip Balm Base (For Pots)

1 ml  Horchata Flavor Fragrance Oil

0.15 ml Radiant Beige Mica 

0.15 ml Sweetener Powder 

4 - Lip Wand & Container - Round, Dark Silver

Combine all ingredients until fully incorporated. You may need to slightly warm the lip balm base if it is very stiff. To fill wand containers, snip the end off of a disposable plastic pipette and use dropper to fill containers until about 2/3 full. ( Note: If you fill to the top, the application of the wand top will cause a mini-explosion and a big mess.)

Copaiba Balsam Essential Oil is extracted via steam distillation from the oleoresin (a clear yellow resin) accumulated in cavities within the trunk. It is obtained by making incisions in the tree trunk. 

Although this resin is referred to as a balsam, in reality it is more like a botanical oil. Copaiba oil has been reported to have antibacterial activity. Choosing Herbal & Mineral Exfoliants

Exfoliants work by removing the dirt and upper layer of dead cells from your skin. Exfoliation helps to avoid dull skin and gives skin a youthful, radiant and healthy appearance. When choosing natural exfoliators you should consider your skin type: sensitive, normal, dry or oily, as well as skin thickness or thinness.

Fine grit exfoliants are excellent, particularly in facial products because of their super-fine consistency. This helps to eliminate scratching and other damage to delicate facial skin. Most fine grit exfoliants are powdered.

Medium grit exfoliants are great for body treatments and some facial treatments, especially for thicker skin types. Medium grit exfoliants are usually powdered with slightly larger, round or oblong grain size to provide more exfoliation.

High grit exfoliants are best-suited for body treatments or treatments for the feet where thicker, more calloused skin is found. High grit exfoliants are not suitable for facial use and are generally large or abnormally shaped.
