Recipe: Ombré Liquid Soap

Ombré: shaded or graduated in tone: said of a color

You Will Need:

18 oz Shower Gel

1 oz Liquid Pearlizer

5 ml ( 1 tsp) Fragrance (optional)

FD&C Red #40 - Liquid

D&C Red #33 - Liquid

16 oz Plastic Bottle

24/410 Ribbed Pump - Natural

Add 12 oz Shower Gel and 1 oz Liquid Pearlizer to a glass pyrex container and mix thoroughly to combine. Add optional fragrance, we used Cinnamon & Clove Fragrance Oil, and stir well to incorporate. Pour pearlized soap into your bottle.

In a separate pyrex container, combine the remainder of your shower gel and colorant. To create a festive red, we combined equal parts FD&C Red #40 and D&C Red #33. We used approximately 8 drops of the red combination for this project. Slowly pour red shower gel into the bottle of pearlized shower gel. Apply closure and allow to sit overnight. 

Note: Over time, the red shower gel will slowly sink through the pearlized shower gel to create an ombré effect of concentrated color at the top that gradually becomes lighter at the bottom of the bottle.
