Recipe: Sole Scrub

Copyright (c) Smell No Evil, Ltd.

Your feet are likely to be stuck inside your boots until spring. But, if you continue taking care of them by exfoliating on a regular basis, they'll thank you! Plus, you'll have no problem slipping back into sandals when the time comes.

You Will Need:

15 ml (1 TBS) Lemon Essential Oil

Combine dendritic salt and pumice in a glass or stainless steel mixing bowl reserved for formulating. Set aside.

In a double boiler over medium heat, combine shea butter, coconut oil and emulsifying wax until melted. Pour over salt/pumice mixture and stir well to combine. Add essential oils and combine again. Add preservative last and combine again. Package in an airtight container until use.

To Use: Apply scrub to damp feet in a circular motion, paying special attention to rough areas like heels. Rinse thoroughly. Because this scrub is emulsified, it will rinse clean without being greasy. Pat dry and moisturize feet as needed. (Works great on hands too!)

With the preservative, what is the shelf life? I've been looking for a scrub that won't leave a greasy film for ages for my parents and grandparents. Last thing I need is them falling in the shower. I'm definitely going to try this out. Thanks for posting!

Xal: With a preservative and proper usage/storage, you can expect a shelf life of about 12 months.
