4 oz Sea Clay

1 oz Parsley Powder
1 oz Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)

Liquid Materials:
1 oz Vegetable Glycerin
2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) Japanese Green Tea Extract
8 drops Sandalwoods Essential Oil Blend (optional)
4 drops Geranium (Rose) Compound (optional)
4 drops Lavender, Bulgarian Essential Oil (optional)

Phase 1: Combine dry, powdered ingredients in a stainless steel or glass mixing bowl. Mix well to incorporate. Continue to mix well to incorporate all ingredients.
Package in an airtight container. No refrigeration is required but product should be stored in a cool, dry place away from moisture.

Phase 2: Combine liquid ingredients in a glass mixing container and incorporate well. The essential oils are optional if you wish to offset the natural odor of the sea clay. You may omit them if you wish. Package in an amber glass bottle and store in a cool, dry place away from moisture.

To Use As A Masque:
Add 2 parts powdered product and 1 part liquid product into a small bowl and stir to blend until it forms a spreadable, thick paste (if it is too thick, add more liquid). Use a facial brush or your fingers to apply mixture to cover face and throat (avoiding eyes) and massage in a circular pattern. Allow to sit for 5 minutes and rinse to remove any residue. Apply a lightweight moisturizer.

Boil distilled water in a stainless steel pot and remove from heat.

To Use At Home:
  • Get comfortable somewhere where you can clean up easily and have 60 minutes of privacy.
  • Dip your sheets in one at a time and wrap your body starting from your ankles. If mixture is too thick, rub into skin liberally and then wrap.
  • You will need to stay warm for 60 minutes so make sure the room is adequately heated.
  • Keep drinking water on hand so you can sip to stay hydrated while you relax.
  • Take a lukewarm (not hot) bath afterwards.
  • Take a hot bath on the second or third day after a wrap to help open the pores and release accumulated toxins from the skin.
  • Dry brushing daily is highly recommended.
  • Repeated use of wraps should show you results. You can take your measurements with each wrap if you wish to track progress.
  • Lastly, light exercise and a healthy diet will obviously help to reduce weight and keep the toxins to a minimum. Try to avoid stimulants and processed foodsand drink lots of filtered water.

Grandpa Don: Life Lessons & Leaving a Legacy

"The deep pain that is felt at the death of every friendly soul arises from the feeling that there is in every individual something which is inexpressible, peculiar to him alone, and is, therefore, absolutely and irretrievably lost."

Donald Elmer Kontur, 82, died August 2, 2010
"Beloved husband of Jessie (nee Miracle); loving father of Marie Lunsford, Anthony (Carol), Joseph (Cynthia), Theresa Duale, Rebecca (Marc) Sirna, Donald (Brenda), Jessie (Gerard) Lamarca, Mark (Anne), Matthew (Linda), John (Martha), Veronica (Michael) Krainz, Christopher (Patricia), Brenda (Kevin) Kotkowski, and the late Jeanette; dearest grandfather of 60; dear great grandfather of 17; brother of Catherine Backlay, Stephen and Albert (all deceased)."
As long as I can recall, my grandfather was my PenPal. Even though we lived on adjacent farms and could call each other or walk down the street, some of our best conversations were on paper. I saved every letter he ever wrote to me as a reminder that besides my parents, my grandpa was my biggest cheerleader.

My grandfather was an amazing man of faith, a father of 14, my confidant and a companion to my grandmother for nearly six decades. His absence makes this world an emptier place. In life he was a teacher and a believer. In death he has become an icon of what we should strive to attain in our own lives. In each of us, his legacy will continue.

Recipe: "Kitchen Chemist: DIY Bed Bug Spray"

At least five states have called on the Department of Defense pleading for money to get rid of bedbugs. The state of Ohio was so desperate that it petitioned the Environmental Protection Agency to allow in-home use of a pesticide called propoxur, which was banned out of concern for its effect on children. That request was denied, and the problem persists.

Kayla Fioravanti is a fellow formulator with a background in Aromatherapy and was kind enough to permit us to post the following recipe that she created using essential oils and tinctures that bugs love to hate. (This recipe has been slightly modified for ease of use)

DIY Bed Bug Spray Recipe

1 gallon
Linen Spray or Herbal Mist
2 Tbsp Neem Extract

2 Tbsp
Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil
2 Tbsp Lavender Distillate (optional)

2 Tbsp
Polysorbate 20

Combine Polysorbate with Lavender Essential Oil and pour into Linen Spray Base. Add other ingredients and shake well to incorporate.

To Use: Spray liberally over bedding and linens.

Donna Maria Coles Johnson, explains the effects of the "Savings Clause" in HR 5786 found in Section 621 of the draft bill. A Savings Clause is a short paragraph in a piece of federal legislation that specifically says that other governmental entities, such as states, towns and municipalities, are free to impose laws that are even more stringent than what is contained in the federal law.

What will it mean for your business if you are forced to comply with 50 different laws in 50 different states?
