Turquoise is a slightly greenish shade of cyan. The color is based on the gem turquoise. The term comes from the French for Turkish.
This in-between color represents water, thus the references of aqua and aquamarine. It's also a valuable and popular mineral often turned into jewelry. Turquoise is closely associated with the Middle East and the American Southwest.
The color turquoise makes us feel happy and cheerful, for in it the light blue of the sky and the stimulating green of the sea are combined. Indeed it is such an inimitable color that we have coined a term specifically for it in our languages: turquoise. Many have referred to turquoise as a little bit of "heaven and earth" as it is reflective of both sea and sky. This, along with the calm, serene feeling many shades of blue-green offer makes Turquoise an obvious choice for spas and spa products!
